Aziz City Scholar, Nimra Shahid, has published a comment piece in The Independent digital newspaper. The article, entitled ‘Workplaces must make room for Muslim women – starting with our toxic drinking culture’, is inspired by the parliamentary launch of Aziz Alumni Suriyah Bi’s research for Muslim Women Connect, on the experience of Muslim women in the workplace.
The Aziz Foundation’s Journalism Masters Scholarship scheme with City, University of London, for budding Muslim journalists – ‘Improving Diversity and Championing Inclusive Journalism’ – is now accepting applications. The number of scholarships available has been extended to five in acknowledgement of the scale of the underrepresentation of British Muslim journalists in the industry.
Nimra Shahid is currently studying Interactive Journalism at City, University of London.
