Aziz Scholar Mohammed Hammad has won the Most Impactful Imam Award at the second Annual British Beacon Mosque Awards 2019, held in London. Mohammed is currently studying an MA in Islamic Studies at SOAS University of London.
The British Beacon Mosque Awards is an annual awards evening celebrating and recognising the successes of stand-out mosques and Muslim communities across Britain. There are nominations in ten categories, including the best mosque outreach work, the most impactful Imam, the best youth service, the best women’s service and much more.
Mohammed Hammad, in accepting the award, commented that ‘It was an honour in itself to be shortlisted from hundreds of mosques across the United Kingdom as the most impactful Imam of 2019, but it was an even greater achievement to have won the award. This humble recognition has since provided many opportunities, and it serves as an encouragement and inspiration for others to shine through supporting, benefitting and ultimately, serving their communities.’
