The final MURABBI leadership training day started off with a recap of the 11 Prophetic leadership qualities and key ideas covered during the previous 6 sessions followed by a light quiz! These ideas were then further discussed through case study discussion of prominent global leadership figures.
The next session looked at community leadership in Britain. It discussed defining community leadership and development and explored how the AF scholars can have an impact in Britain whatever their field.
The afternoon sessions were more hands-on with the first being a Press Conference challenge! One of the aims of Aziz Foundation is to produce leaders who project a mature, nuanced and articulate discourse relating to matters relevant to British Muslims, and to represent the faith well in mainstream settings. This session was a press conference simulation where delegates were challenged to respond to common contentious questions British Muslims often face.
The next session had attendees share their next 12 months plan, and how they plan to apply their leadership learnings to make a difference.
The day concluded with a certification ceremony, prizes and closing words.
The Leadership Support Scheme is a year of workshops and training for our scholarship recipients. During their postgraduate studies, scholars are expected to complete leadership training and use the access they are given to industry leaders to build their own networks and create meaningful projects which address the needs of their communities.
