Aziz Foundation celebrates five years of Masters Scholarships
30 November 2024
The Aziz Foundation is celebrating five years of its flagship Masters Scholarships Programme, with events marking the occasion in Manchester and London.
Through the programme, the Foundation has awarded over 550 Masters Scholarships, investing £7.5m in British Muslim communities. It has developed a portfolio of 43 partner universities through its Preferred Partner scheme, and continues to forge new partnerships.
Celebratory events were hosted by the The University of Manchester, and SOAS University of London. Across both events, over 150 stakeholders and beneficiaries attended, including scholars and alumni, mentors, and university senior leaders and professional services staff.
During the events, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Rahima Aziz BEM addressed scholars and alumni:
“It’s inspiring to see so many Muslim changemakers among you: you truly are the leaders of the next generation…it’s been an honour to have been able to meet and interview so many of you”.
Representing Aziz Foundation staff, Dr Zain Sardar paid tribute to the Aziz family:
“I want to, from the bottom of my heart, thank the Aziz family, without whom none of this would be possible. It is the Aziz family’s generosity and compassion which has so deeply defined the first five years of this programme, and it is their continued generosity which will, undoubtedly, shape the next five years.”
The Foundation will continue to support access to PGT studies for British Muslim communities, and will be working closely with its university partners in fulfillment of its philanthropic mission.
