Nada Aggour

I’m a Broadcast Journalism MA student at City, University of London. As a Muslim, British-Egyptian woman, I have been particularly intrigued by Muslim women’s visibility in western media, both as journalists and as the subject of on-screen debates.

As an Aziz Scholar, my aim is to better represent my community in wider society, driving mutual understanding, trust and unity. I hope to capitalise on my fluency in English, Arabic and French to shed light on the experiences and successes of highly distinguished Muslim women from across the arts, sciences, humanities, and sport.

In doing so, I hope to bring something positive and refreshing to western audiences while giving future Muslim generations not only visible role models, but a pride and confidence in their identity that raises their aspirations and allows them to shine in their future pursuits.
