Yasmin Ali
MA CREATIVE CULTURAL INDUSTRIES, UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER
I am currently studying a Master's degree in Creative and Cultural Industries at the University of Manchester and I am a course representative for my degree. I have returned to academia after working in the UK television industry for several years. I have worked on award-winning programmes for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and TLC. I'm also a published writer and multidisciplinary artist.
As an Aziz Foundation scholar, I am committed to continuing my work for better diversity and inclusion within the UK television industry, and the wider creative industries as a whole. Through my degree, I will be expanding my knowledge on cultural policy, business strategies for the arts, creative labour and more.
I am passionate about promoting the creative industries as viable career option and hope to inspire the next generation of Muslim creatives to pursue their dreams and make a positive impact on society.
