UCL's Advancement Team have hosted a reception for Aziz scholars and alumni to celebrate the Aziz Foundation's philanthropic giving to the university, principally through partnerships with three faculties:

The Foundation has awarded over 60 scholarships to British Muslims studying at UCL since 2019, extending opportunities for exceptional British Muslims to undertake Masters level study.

At the reception, UCL-Aziz scholars and alumni were joined by senior managers and leaders at the university, as well as Aziz Foundation staff and trustees.

During the course of the evening, speeches were given by:

  • Angharad Milenkovic, UCL Vice-President (Advancement)
  • Professor Nick WItham, Interim Dean for UCL Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences
  • Rahima Aziz BEM, Trustee of the Aziz Foundation

During her speech, Rahima Aziz BEM, who has just completed her Masters at UCL, said:

"this is really only the start of this joint-venture. There is so much more for us to do to ensure that more British Muslims get the privilege of a UCL education. Events like this serve as a reminder for us to celebrate our successes, but also motivate us to continue to serve those that are underprivileged in our communities."

The Foundation's Board of Trustees would like to express its deep gratitude to UCL for being such a valued partner, and keenly anticipates working closely with the university in the years to come.
