After completing my bachelors in Maths and Statistics at Queen Mary University of London, I was naturally drawn to the  statistics and data science fields.

The current boom in big data coupled with my role in analytics has allowed me to understand the importance of leveraging data to tell a story.  I saw first-hand how my Muslim colleagues in the NHS used data analytics and data visualisation to tell stories about Muslims in the workplace which resulted in awareness of the glass ceiling for Muslim staff and in policy change. This instilled a desire to further refine my data literacy skills so that I can continue to champion Muslim narratives and tell stories about Muslims that inspire change.
