Aziz Foundation announces new editorial fellowship with Prospect Magazine
11 January 2024
The Aziz Foundation is pleased to announce that it is partnering with Prospect to offer an aspiring British Muslim journalist a 6-month, full time fellowship to help produce the UK’s leading longform print magazine.
The Foundation works with organisations in industries where Muslims are traditionally underrepresented to deliver paid internship opportunities. These provide a valuable opportunity for British Muslims to develop their skills and gain useful industry experience.
As an editorial fellow, the post holder will gain first-hand experience in a modern magazine, from the early editorial meetings through commissioning and editing, all the way to publication. They will contribute to the magazine’s print and digital output, including online pieces and newsletters. Furthermore, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist in the production of Prospect’s podcasts and develop their skills as an editor and a writer. Duties also include proofreading, factchecking and sub-editing, assisting with social media content creation, and pitching ideas for essays, features, profiles, podcasts and reviews.
To apply please supply a CV, cover letter and three ideas of stories you think Prospect could cover in the magazine or online. Explain each idea in 50 words or less.
Application deadline: 16th February at noon. Please apply via the Aziz Foundation’s portal. For more information, visit the Internships Programme webpage.
