AZIZ FOUNDATION BRINGS RAMADAN LIGHTS LONDON BACK TO THE WEST END FOR THIRD YEAR
12 February 2025

For the third year running, the Aziz Foundation is proud to announce that we will once again illuminate Coventry Street with a spectacular aerial display of 30,000+ glowing LED bulbs – and this year, the programme is more immersive than ever, featuring exciting, family-friendly experiences for all to enjoy. From 28th February to 6th April 2025, London’s West End will shine every night from 5:00pm to 5:00am, celebrating Ramadan and Eid – a dazzling symbol of unity and London’s vibrant, multicultural spirit.
In 2023, Coventry Street made history as the first location in Western Europe to host aerial Ramadan lights. This year, to mark the Aziz Foundation’s 10th anniversary, we’re introducing brand-new elements to make the celebration even more inclusive and engaging:
'Spread The Light' Interactive Installation – A stunning new light installation in Leicester Square, where visitors can press a button to send beams of light soaring up the structure – epitomising connection and community.
London’s First Iftar Food Trail – The ‘Ramadan Delights’ food trail features exclusive offers at top Halal-friendly dining spots, including 1 Leicester Square at Hotel Indigo, Franco’s, Americana London, Farzi London, Shake Shack, and Bone Daddies.
Local Prayer Spaces – An interactive online map will help visitors find nearby locations to break fast and pray comfortably.
Community Lantern Project – Families and individuals can download and decorate a ‘Spread The Light’ lantern pattern from our website, sharing their creations to spread the Ramadan spirit across the UK.
From Ramadan to Eid – As Ramadan ends, the lights will transition from "Happy Ramadan" to "Happy Eid" on 30th March, shining until 6th April 2025 to celebrate the joyous occasion.
Rahima Aziz BEM, Trustee at the Aziz Foundation, shared:
"We are proud to continue this world-leading tradition for a third year, celebrating London’s rich diversity and the spirit of Ramadan. This year’s exciting new additions - from our interactive installation to the Iftar Food Trail - are designed to bring people together, fostering inclusivity and interfaith understanding in a truly meaningful way. ‘Spread The Light’ carries a universal message of hope and generosity, inviting people of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds to take part in this special occasion."
