Aziz Foundation Scholar Rufeida Alhatimy Sets Up Social Knowbility

Rufeida Alhatimy, a current scholar who is studying for an MA in Contemporary Literature, Culture & Theory at King’s College London has recently set up her own access project called Social Knowbility with the vision to support, inspire, and empower students who come from social groups that are traditionally under represented in higher education.

This coming week, Social Knowbility will be hosting their first two events – ‘Taking the Reign’, which is a panel event featuring Suhaiymah Manzoor Khan & Eve Simpson, as well as the ‘Mobilising Students to Equalise Higher Education’ Conference (in partnership with Sutton Trust, Access and Accelerate Foundation and EdMobiliser.

The conference will not only feature Office for Students‘ Chris Millward, Director for Fair Access and Participation, but the founders of EdMobilizer in the US will also join to share their experience of creating a large and significantly influential coalition of first-generation students from the eight Ivy League universities in the US, which are some of the most selective universities in the world.
