Chair and Founder awarded Mahathir Bin Mohamad Leadership Award

Asif Aziz, the founder of Criterion Capital and Aziz Foundation, has been announced as the winner of the Tun Dr Mahathir Bin Mohamad Leadership Award for 2022. This prestigious award is in recognition of his outstanding achievements in business and his dedication to helping others achieve success. He has been a leader in providing guidance and support to British Muslim students while also developing innovative approaches to business.

Tun Dr Mahathir Bin Mohamad is a Malaysian politician who was the fourth Prime Minister of Malaysia from 1981 to 2003. He is the longest serving Prime Minister in Malaysian history and one of the longest serving leaders in the world.

Rahima Aziz, a trustee of the Aziz Foundation, attended the Islam Channel Business Awards ceremony held at the Hilton London Metropole to accept the award on the Chair of Trustee’s behalf. In her speech, she said it was “incredible what my father has achieved by showing leadership as a British Muslim entrepreneur and philanthropist. Leadership to him means taking the initiative not just to inspire others, but to proactively help others to succeed in life’s journey.”
