My name is Ilhan Rayen Awed and I am a current postgraduate student at King's College London studying MA World History and Cultures.
I work as Project Lead for The Black Curriculum and have been involved in several projects including the creation of TBC's flagship youth programme, the National Ambassador Scheme. I have also coordinated Curriculum Consultations Audits, which have been delivered to tens schools throughout the country.
As an Aziz Scholar I hope to continue to advocate for inclusive histories and narratives within the heritage sector, whilst also emphasising the importance of diverse Global South and British Muslim representation within the national curriculum.
