Maisaa Sweid

I am a Community Builder with Wellbeing Exeter, supporting people to make their community a better place. My job entails supporting migrant Muslim women, which made me realise the obstacles many of them face to establish themselves away from their immediate familial and social support networks.

Equipped by the professional and academic knowledge that I will gain during the course, I will start my own project offering a co-creative space to support Muslim women and help organise individual and group initiatives by and for Muslim women.

I will combine the knowledge I will attain from the course with my professional background over 20 years, and my unique cultural perspective as a Syrian-British to achieve my post-study goals.
