I am a traditionally and academically trained Islamic scholar, serving as an itinerant Imam across the UK. I hold a joint honours BA in History and the Study of Religions from SOAS, University of London, where I am currently also pursuing an MA in International Studies and Diplomacy.
Professionally, I am a Civil Servant with extensive experience across key UK government departments. I have previously worked at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, and am presently working as a Senior Policy Adviser at the UK Ministry of Defence.
In addition to this role within the Civil Service, I am the director of Nasihah, an Islamic consultancy aimed at providing regular Islamic religious services to the general public and innovative solutions to the public and private sectors. I am also the CEO of The Ulfath Foundation; a grassroots charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities, especially communities from disaster struck areas in Pakistan.
