MA GLOBAL CULTURES, KINGS COLLEGE LONDON

I am a graduate of International History at the LSE and a teacher by profession. I am the founder of a global online community for Muslim mothers which seeks to connect, support and uplift Muslim mothers across the world. I am also a community activist, scouts leader and mother of four boys.

My deep passion and love for education and community led me to choose this MA course with the intention to help decolonise and diversify curriculums for the inclusivity of British Muslim children, who I believe are becoming ostracised by increasing Islamophobic rhetoric in mainstream media and education.

Global Cultures traces the roots, development and connections between people and places. It explores where we have come from, how our identities have been shaped and influenced, how we can coexist in diversity by fostering a better understanding and tolerance of cultural difference.

I hope this MA helps serve my online community of Muslim mothers better as well as enable me to contribute effectively in the education sector. I would like to thank the Aziz Foundation deeply and am grateful that they chose to invest in the education of the mothers of future generations.
