After completing an undergraduate degree in History at UCL, I am now aiming to complete the MA in Museum Studies.

I want to develop a career within the heritage sector, which has a clear under-representation of ethnic and religious minorities. As a British-Pakistani Muslim, I aspire to increase the visibility of Islamic history and of Muslims within the sector.

Professionally, I am particularly interested in working with collections and exhibitions and I wish to promote more ethical, open, and inclusive practices.

I believe that exposing the history of artefact retrieval would be a step forward in shaping a more inclusive sector by recognising historical patterns of exploitation, particularly regarding artefacts retrieved during the period of European colonisation.
