MA CREATIVE WRITING, BIRKBECK

They say that the pen is mightier than the thrust of the sword, and it is this need to make a difference towards the lives of British Muslims – particularly British Muslim women of colour – that has pushed me to undertake an MA in Creative Writing.

I have been an avid reader and writer ever since I could grasp a book/pen in my grubby hands, and to that end, completed my first degree in Creative Writing over a decade and a half ago.

Now, I have decided to go back into education to further hone my craft and nurture my talent in order to achieve publication in the UK. Through my writing, I hope to bring a much needed lick of colour to the publishing industry, telling stories that celebrate the culture and identity of today’s British Muslim woman.
