The University of Salford Manchester joins Preferred Partner Scheme
20 December 2021
It is with great pleasure that we, at the Aziz Foundation, welcome the University of Salford Manchester as a Preferred Partner, where exceptional British Muslims can receive a scholarship to undertake postgraduate study.
The University of Salford has demonstrated a commitment to removing barriers to access and success for BME students, as well as to providing tailored support to its sizeable Muslim student population. The institution is a signatory of the Greater Manchester University Civic Agreement, which aims to mobilise collective action in the areas of education, jobs, the digital economy, the creative and cultural economy, achieving net zero, and reducing inequalities. It also boasts a higher intake of BME students to postgraduate courses and has a number of initiatives in place to close the BME awarding gap, including mentoring and leadership schemes, provision of industry advice, membership of the Race Equality Charter, and the establishment of a Black British history course.
We are pleased to welcome the University of Salford Manchester as one of our Preferred Partners and look forward to working closely with the University to widen access and increase opportunities at the postgraduate taught level for British Muslim communities, and continue to close the BME awarding gap at this level.
Scholarship hopefuls are offered MA Media and Journalism courses. For more information and to apply please click here.
