University of Bradford joins Preferred Partner Scheme

The Aziz Foundation is delighted to announce that it will be offering Master’s scholarships at the University of Bradford, where talented British Muslims can receive a scholarship to undertake postgraduate study.

The University of Bradford has become one of the Foundation’s Preferred Partners, having demonstrated their commitment in extending Widening Participation to the postgraduate level as well as providing tailored academic and pastoral support to its Muslim student population.

The University is a leader in widening access to higher education in the UK and was named the top university in the country for improving students’ social mobility in 2020. The institution is currently collaborating on initiatives to increase access to postgraduate taught study for BAME graduates and students from underrepresented backgrounds. This includes the Brad-ATTAIN (Bradford Pathways to Academia for Minoritised Ethnicities), which offers summer schools to showcase postgraduate research to Bradford undergraduates and provides PhD studentships for under-represented groups. Moreover, the institution is a member of the Yorkshire Consortium for Equity in Doctoral Education (YCEDE), which aims to tackle race and ethnic inequalities in postgraduate research.

The University is committed to tackling Islamophobia on campus, offering social support to British Muslims through a male and female Muslim Faith Advisor. Its multifaith prayer space holds weekly Friday Prayers led by local Imams.
