University of Stirling joins Preferred Partner Scheme

The Aziz Foundation is delighted to announce that it will be offering Masters scholarships at the University of Stirling, where talented British Muslims can receive a scholarship to undertake postgraduate study.

University of Stirling has become one of the Foundation’s Preferred Partners, having demonstrated their commitment to making higher education accessible since its inception. The core value of equality of opportunity has been fundamental to the university’s operation since 1967. It has, moreover, committed to extending Widening Participation to the postgraduate level, in addition to reducing education inequalities for minoritised students.

Located in Stirling, the university is also strongly determined to decrease the BAME awarding gap. Initiatives in place to achieve this include the establishment of a University Widening Access team to address concerns of unconscious bias, and to ensure that underrepresented groups have fair access to academic programmes.

The University is committed to tackling Islamophobia on campus and increasing its proportion of Muslim postgraduate students through a range of measures. The institution ensures that all staff and students can work, study, research and participate in an environment that supports them to succeed – a goal that is incorporated within its Anti-Racism and Race Equality Strategy 2022-25. British Muslim students have access to support services including to The Central Scotland Regional Equality Council, which offers a free and confidential advice services.
