Bournemouth University has been a member of Advance HEβs Race Equality Charter (REC) since 2016 and has a wide range of policies covering Equality, Diversity, Faith and Belief, and Hate crime.
The Faith and Reflection team at Bournemouth University offer guidance and support to students of all faiths and has extensive provision available for Muslim students. This includes an Islamic prayer room with a Wudu area and a Muslim chaplain who runs events for all communities on campus.
The University has also set itself the goal of eradicating the degree awarding gap by 2024/25. Furthermore, critical interventions such as mandatory unconscious bias training and partnering with important institutions such as Santander UK in their Union Black programme help support minoritised students.
