Preferred Partners in Focus: the university of exeter
The University of Exeter fully acknowledges the under-representation of Muslims at postgraduate study level. The University is determined to create an inclusive culture, and has sought to do so with the appointment of Academic Leads for Student Support (Racial Equality and Inclusion) in each of its academic colleges.
One way in which the University has proven its commitment to widening participation is through its bid to the OfS as lead partner on a project to improve access to PhD study by students of colour. Additionally, the institution isย carrying out detailed data analysis to support the creation of a new action plan to be driven forward by its Widening Participation in Postgraduate Study working group.
The University of Exeter hosts the Individuality Speaker Series celebrating a range of role models, provides staff training on inclusion, and funds innovative student-led projects tackling racism and promoting inclusion within arts and sport.
